Where are they now?
This Country Showdown exclusive interview series follows past artists who have showcased their talent in one of our events. This week the spotlight is on 2014 Regional Finalist Brendan Young.
Brendan is now a full time professional musician who just ended a star role in a 6 month long country classic rock show on the Branson Belle. Aboard this paddle wheeler, Young with 6 other performers, celebrated classic rock music entertaining audiences on this exciting entertainment showboat.
He is currently residing in Muscle Shoals Alabama and is gearing up for a a new round in his music career finishing recording on his upcoming single “Won’t Give Up On Memphis” which he says is one of the few songs he’s written about a personal experience. Most of his songwriting ideas he attributes to thoughts or things he’s heard about that he knows would make a good story line or theme for a song.
Young enjoyed his time on the Country Showdown stage and would tell newcomers to the showcase events to remember to enjoy what you are doing. Work on your performance & stage presence and try to contain those nerves. Remember that everyone, including the judges, are cheering you on and want you to be successful.
Check out Thick As Thieves, one of the songs he wrote and attributes to his success in the Country Showdown
